STUDY IN THAILAND

Three students of FMIPA Yogyakarta State University namely Zahra Noor A’yuna, Diqna (Biology Education), and Ratna Hardiyanti Ma'fudhoh (Biology) were Judicial participants in the July 2019 period which were held on Monday, 5/8/19 at the FMIPA campus. The three students have participated in a credit transfer program to Yala Rajabhat University (YRU), Thailand. After the event, Zahra told me that the learning facilities, especially the lab equipment at YRU, were more complete. Learning there between practicum and theory, the credits are combined. The study time is also longer. "In teaching lecturers there are more presentations than students. The language used in learning uses English and Malay. There are also lecturers in teaching their power points in English but teaching them in Thai, "he continued. Zahra added, they had also danced in the field when there was a sports competition at the university. Meanwhile, another Yudisium participant, Rina Musannadah (Mathematics Education) shared her experience when attending PPL Overseas. Rina has been teaching PPL at Benguet state university secondary laboratory school, Philippines. There, Rina teaches Maths 7th and 10th grade in English. The students are local residents from Pakistan. "Of the 30 days there, I only taught effectively 10 days. This is because there are frequent storms. Notification of school holidays due to a storm was announced the day before based on weather forecasts there. If there is a storm, schools from kindergarten to high school level are closed. If the school is on vacation, the activity is discussing or exchanging ideas with students in campus, "he continued. Rina revealed that most of the school teachers were graduates from Benguet state university who were still in the same neighborhood as the secondary laboratory school. If there are junior high school classes up to 4 levels, namely class 7 to grade 10, and the level of high school is only 2 levels, namely classes 10 and 11. Even a few years ago after graduating grade 10 can go straight to college so that scholars there are relatively younger than us. (witono)
