Program Objective and Program Learning Outcome

The Program Objective (PO) of Bachelor of Education in Biology

The Bachelor of Education in Biology has three specialization programs: (1) Biology Educators, (2) Research Assistants in Biology Education, and (3) Entrepreneurs in Biology Education.

  1. The Program Objective (PO) of the Bachelor of Education in Biology for Biology Educators specialization is to have excellent, creative, and innovative qualifications and competencies as prospective biology teachers, especially at the Senior High School and or equivalent levels while still upholding the values of piety, independency, and scholarly.
  2. The Program Objective (PO) of the Bachelor of Education in Biology for Research Assistants in Biology Education specialization is to able to conduct research that can contribute to solving problems in biology education, especially through the development of learning technology based on local wisdom oriented to sustainable development.
  3. The Program Objective (PO) of the Bachelor of Education in Biology for Entrepreneurs in Biology Education specialization is to have insight, orientation, and entrepreneurial competence either independently or together with other people in the field of biology and biology education, who are able to contribute to the surrounding community in an accountable, credible, and transparent manner.

 

The Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) of Bachelor of Education in Biology

Program Learning Outcome in Bachelor of Education in Biology has four main aspects (Attitudes, Knowledge, Special Skills, and General Skills).

1. Attitudes

  • Fear of God Almighty and uphold human values in carrying out their duties.
  • Having the attitude of living in society, nation, and state based on Pancasila.
  • Demonstrate a responsible, independent, entrepreneurial attitude, leadership, and be adaptive in carrying out their duties.

2. Knowledge

  • Mastering biology and other knowledge relevant to mathematics and natural sciences.
  • Understand the principles of TPACK (Technological, Pedagogical, and Content Knowledge) in learning biology
  • Mastering the use of information and communication technology in biology learning.

3. Special Skills

  • Able to do laboratory work and field studies independently.
  • Able to plan, implement, evaluate and follow up educational biology lessons.
  • Mastering research methodologies in biological sciences and biological education and their application.

4. General Skills

  • Able to communicate and collaborate, both orally and in writing.
  • Have managerial skills in the professions under their responsibility.
  • Improve their professional skills through training, work experience or continuing education.
