The History of Bachelor of Education in Biology

The name of the degree program is the Bachelor of Education in Biology (BEB), as stated on the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education of the Department of Education and Culture No. 31 / DIKTI. Kep / 1984. The name of the study program has been used since the establishment of Bachelor of Education in Biology at the Faculty of Pedagogy, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) Yogyakarta in 1964. Then, in 1984, when the faculty was separated from UGM and converted as IKIP Yogyakarta, the department was renamed the Life Sciences Department in the Faculty of Pedagogy and Sciences. In 1997, IKIP Yogyakarta was converted into Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) and the department went by the name of Bachelor of Education in Biology at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), which is used until today. The name of the study program reflects the Program Outcome (PO), the graduate profiles, as well as the defined Program Learning Outcomes (PLO).
